Well ive finally made my mind up on my first overseas trip.

Looking at next Easter (nothing like planning ahead) Its going to be Disney and paris. Via the tunnel I think.

Going to stop at huttopia for the paris site seing leg and somewhere nearer to DLP for that leg.

Looking for advice about where to stop near to DLP, would prefer a site even if its basic, considering my lack of experience driving abroad.
still unsure about which one to do first.

is it possible to stay on DLP car park overnight as ill only be there about 3 days

This site is near Disneyland Paris, not stayed there but recommended to us.

Several apps. We find Campercontact the best for us. You will need to get the paid for version. Or you could search for free on their website.

Thanks.
I have their app. Think I’ve got the paid for version. Didn’t see a lot of places on it. Maybe I need to check my filter settings

Can anyone recommend a blog to read or a post about first trips and driving in France. What is required paperwork and essentials.
Thanks in advance

I know you need a high vis top and a warning triangle but what other legal requirements are there when travelling in France,

I copy all our paperwork along with our passports & GHICs to carry the originals and a copy, and leave a copy at home that the kids can get to if needed.

Thanks for that. Are there any items you need to have in your van in case you breakdown things like that.
Also do suggest taking your log book, insurance etc

We take the log book and insurance docs, again copied.

As for breakdown we carry a triangle, and a few basic tools. Good travel insurance is probably the best thing to have, we buy C&MC annual multi-trip motoring & personal insurance. It's not the cheapest but having a car breakdown in France when we had the caravan we discovered how good their cover & service was.

It mentions headlight converters.
What are those, excuse my ignorance

They alter the direction of your headlights as they will shine in the wrong direction on the roads over there, they are not expensive and you can get them from AA, Halfords, Amazon etc. They just stick on and you can remove them when you're back home. Alan leaves ours on as we don't tend to drive the MH in the dark at home but we have arrived in France after dark.

Thanks for that.
Is the GB sticker ok near the reg plate and do you need one on the front.

You need a UK sticker, GB now redundant, near the rear reg plate, no need for one at the front.

Not allowed to be called great now ?

Thanks for those links as well.

You can put a GB sticker next to your UK one, so that people don't think you're from Ukraine. It's a common misconception. You also need a hi-vis vest for every passenger and they must be easily accessible. In the event of a breakdown, you must put them on before getting outof your vehicle. You also need a red warning triangle.

If you're going to Paris, you'll also need a CRIT'Air certificate. Read about them here;

and apply for one here (the official government website);

You can change the language to English once you're on the page. They cost €4 and, I believe, can take up to 2 weeks to arrive in the UK. I live in France, so I'm not 100% sure of that; just going on what I've read other people saying.

I hope this helps :)

Thanks for that great info.
Are the certificates something you need to get annually or just a one off

Do you need replacement bulbs or is that just recommended
