First Time Ferry Question

As a newbie we are about to book our first ferry trip for the motor home to N Ireland, Cairnryan to Larne or Belfast. As we are taking our dalmatian all the questions relate to her.

Can she stay in the van for the 2 hour trip, can we stay with her ?
If not in the van are there any restrictions that we should be aware of, would she need to wear a muzzle?

Only reason we are asking is that she ca be a bit reactive to bigger dogs when she is on the lead.

We was surprised when we came back from the UK in August, the lady at check in at DFDS dover said we can visit the dog in car deck anytime just ask a member of staff.
We did Fishguard / Rosslare then Dublin / Holyhead and our dog was fine in the camper. Bob.
