so after a few weeks on the road. Mainly in campsites. Pub car parks mates drives and the staff car park at work I am finally boondocking

Now it’s not like I was building up the courage or anything. I’ve just being placing myself where I need to be the next day and it’s worked out the way it was.

But tomorrow I need to be close to my storage unit so I parked up on a dead end residential street of nice Victorian houses in a very nice area. Basically avoiding lager louts.

Took the dog for a walk in the park and then I have walked into the posh part of the bar district in Sheffield for a few cheeky ones before I retire for the night.

Quite excited about it.

I have no idea what boonDocking is but, you should have said I’m sure @Anthea M would have let you park on her Driveway. ;)

Are you on Riverdale Road near Endcliffe Park?!

I have no idea what boonDocking is but......

It’s another American term..... wildcamping on the road or elsewhere, often referred to on the forum as freeloading and should be banned forthwith..... the term, not the act

I thought BLT was a sandwich :)

That's what I was thinking, are you allowed to use those words in the same sentence (Sheffield & posh).:D
I know exactly what you mean. Its the same as not using
(Blair and War Criminal)
Really difficult not to combine the two in the same sentence.

Oy you lot, I'll set my mate Anthea on you.

On second thoughts @Anthea M look what they're saying about your home town.

No Riverdale Rd as you will know is not a dead end.
Not far from there though towards Forge dam

Was a good nights sleep. Heard a car wheel spin away about 5am but other than that very peaceful.

Took the dog a walk along Forge Dam in the morning which was nice.

Tonight will be another boondock night. Going to change location though to try and build a stack of options in case they fill up.

"Boondocking"

Nought wrong with Sheffield. I went there as a 20 year old student - I had a placement working as an engineer on the building of the tram system as part of my degree. Went straight to the University, told them I was a student (I was - just not at Sheffield ) and I needed accommodation.

"You're in luck" says the nice lady in the accommodation office "We've just finished a conversion of a church just off West Street, there's a big lecture theatre in the main part but there are also two 15 bedroom flats - just one room left, en-suite as well, would you like it?". Erm, yes please!

In this 15 bedroom flat was me, a very nice but ultra-quiet devout Christian lad, and 13 girls who'd all just started University, all aged 18 or 19.

Not sure Sheffield would be quite the same if I went back now...……..

Did a lot of "boon-docking" on our US travels, In the US you are allowed to "boon-dock" on certain types of BLM (Bureau of Land Management) or State lands, and you have to abide by certain rules, leaving no crap for one!. Occasionally if there is a "Warden" there might be a small fee.

Oxymoron, A "contradiction in terms". e.g. - Military Intelligence,? or Sheffield and Posh:whistle:, or perhaps Parliament and Truth?. Civil and Servant?,. Go-on make some more up?:D2. DVLA and Efficiency?.
