Hi all, I'm trying to get to grips with the firestick and install virgin TV go app to watch live TV through home virgin media account.
Doing a search on the firestick doesn't seem to find TV go.
Anyone got any ideas where in going wrong ???
TIA

I should add I've done a search from the top title bar next to the home button and from a "downloader" app already on the firestick, neither finds virgin TV go ????
Would installing Play Store help ?

Amazon restricts certain apps that they consider compeat with their prime offering. I know I cant load nowtv might be the same with tvgo.

Thanks, I wonder if that`s where "sideloading" comes in that I`ve heard about ?
No idea how to do it though, but maybe youtube will reveal all ?

Yes. Side loading can maybe get around it. BUT do not ask me how. I just wait for my son to visit and he does it all ?

You can install Virgin TV to GO by installing APPS2FIRE and the app Mouse toggle for fire from the play store on to your phone. Once have done that you need to change a setting on the Fire stick, turn on ADB debugging this will then let you do what they call side load the Virgin TV and the Mouse toggle app to the Apps on the fire stick. Once you have done this you can then open the Virgin app on the fire stick you will need the mouse toggle app to navigate around the Virgin TV app.

When do this you have to have the firestick and phone on the same WIFI network

I found a web site that described doing just that.
I've put apps2fire on my phone now and will try the rest tomorrow.
Thanks for posting

Hi You will need mouse toggle app as well so can navigate around the virgin TV app with the Fire stick remote, also when VT first starts up the screen is squashed this is normal once you start to watch a programme it is ok

Hi Phil
I was in touch with you a while ago regarding this but never got around to sorting it!
Anyway this thread reminded me so I have downloaded the Cetus Play for iPhone connected it to my my Firestick ( so far so good). But when I search for Apps on Cetus the Virgin app doesn’t appear? Any help appreciated and apologies for taking so long to get back to you! Thanks

Hi I am not up to speed with iPhone, I use Samsung, have you got Virgin TV app on the iPhone?

Hi Yes I have Virgin TV app on my phone but not showing in the Cetus list

Hi my daughter has an iPhone I will have look and let you know if I can see what the problem is

I think it's the mouse toggle you need for it to work, £2.99 from playstore.
I tried the Cetus as it was free, but didn't work.
Having said that I've not actually got MT to work either yet. I keep getting a P1 error trying to start it ???
Not got around to researching it yet.

I think thats for Android not Iphone. Too be honest I'm not quite sure how I've got to the stage that I'm at!! Please don't ask me any questions!!

Hi AG 2602,Tried on my Daughters iPhone using Cetus and like you say VT is not there, done some digging on the internet and it looks as if iPhone have stopped it, all the old apps that are showing how to do it are gone and not available to download anymore, still able via Apps2fire on android. So if you can get hold of an android phone may be the easiest way to do it, I am going to see if I can put together a step by step guide on how to do it
Phil

Thanks Phil appreciate the effort.

I don,t subscribe to virgin but out of interest I installed it on my firestick.Took about 5 minutes
First go into settings on the firestick and navigate to my fire tv/developer options enable apps from unknown sources and adb debugging.
Back to the home screen go across and search for and install downloader.
Open downloader and type in
hxxxs://www.malavida.com/en/soft/virgin-tv-go/android/
Note https before :
The malavida site opens and use the mouse to download the app.
Open the app and choose your browser to continue,I use the amazon silk browser.
This gets you to the virgin login screen but for me as i have no logo credentials that was as far as I can go.
Good luck ,

There is another program to side load to fs :adblink. have that on PC. Search for apk file you want dl and save to file.
Run adb find fs ,allow third parties ,connect . Find file from folder and run . Will then appear on fs apps .
Good luck

Hi This works as well without the need for an Android phone, you will still need to find a mouse toggle app to navigate around VT
Good luck
Phil

I’ve just tried the install as per Leftlegger but having downloaded the Virgin TV Go app and tried to open on the Firestick I get a message saying the app needs updating in order to work. The Firestick will not allow an update. Has anyone out there had the same problem and found a fix? Or have Amazon blocked it; more likely?

Hi had this the other day just re install the APP works better now you don't get the squashed screen on start up

I’m still struggling @ Phil 748. Where did you re install the App from? The malavida link still seems to be out of date, I can’t update and does not work for me. Help!

Hi, I got the App from the playstore and used App2fire to install via my phone to the firestick

Thanks Phil 748. I’ve been trying to do it from an Iphone platform. I’ll have to ‘borrow’ a grandchild and and associated Android phone!! Still I’ve managed to use up a couple of hours in the moho on a very wet Saturday. Thanks again.
