Fiat Extended Warranty recovery issues

Broke down on Saturday (Fiat Ducato 2018) and tried the phone number for recovery (RAC commercial) but they can't deal with recovery for extended warranty. Tried the Fiat customer care number and pressed the button for breakdown and that is only for cars. They suggested phoning the main Fiat Customer Care number as the only way of obtaining help but did say that it only works Monday Friday 9 to 5. Anyone else had this issue or found a way around it?

Makes relying on the recovery that comes with the extended warranty a little problematic! As I had a long time to study the conditions on the back of the certificate it also says that recovery is only available for a fault that has been caused by a manufacturing problem. Would expect that on the warranty but means that recovery is not really that comprehensive even if you could get through to someone. Emailed Fiat and will post any reply if it is helpful.
 
Had exactly the same problem last year, RAC totally refused to deal with us. Rang the number for camper care assist but don't select UK as it puts you through to the RAC. Wait till the end of the options (select last one) and you will speak to someone in Italy.
Took five hours to rescue us, (turned out the fiat garage was across the road but couldnt see it for the trees, would have pushed the van there) don't know what fiat said to the RAC but it put a rocket up them. Was repeated assured that all staff were now informed about the 5 year warranty. So much for staff training. Garage allowed us to camp there until part arrived and could be fitted. New alternator needed 3 year old van.

Just to let you know that the nice person(who looked after all my recall woes years ago) at Fiat in Italy looked into this and said the RAC commercial recovery should be able to handle this. She cancelled my complaint and said that to prove it she would put me through to the correct number and I was to check with them the number to call from the UK. She put me through and the RAC denied all knowledge of ever doing any work for Fait extended warranty just as they said on Saturday. So not going to follow it up as I have access to recovery elsewhere now. Just for information be aware that as far as my experience goes there is no recovery with the Camper Extended Warranty!

You should have told her to make it a 3 way call so she could partake in it .Or recorded it & played it back to her.
