Yep, best engine ever fitted to a Ducato, strong reliable and gutsy. Basically the same as the iveco daily engine fitted in some very expensive motorhomes

160hp 3.0 litre circa 2007- 2012 is a chain, yes - it's an IVECO unit if that makes any difference.

Deffinitly chain Dave, our current 3.0l 180 is chain as was our previous Peugeot 160 Autocruise.

The new van has since 55k one owner, should be good for a few years. How often does the chain need changing?

Indeed, it's fitted to a cathargo. Lol

It should last the life of the engine but with very high mileages might stretch a bit

Dave, got some pictures to show us your new purchase?

Good choice of engine. Our Hymer has the 3litre engine and it has a chain. It pulls well and cruises at motorway speeds very quietly. We get 24mpg in a 4.5t A class, but I have a heavy right foot so you may get more.

Possibly with the rattle coming from some of the engines.

I'm done with wannabee French motorhomes, that look more like a bordello on wheels...
I gave it a funny but not quite sure what a bordello on wheels looks like. I bow to your superior experience in that regard. I did google it but the only image I found was some old Rapido with paint peeling off the bonnet :whistle2:
