I'm trying to clear the engine warning light 'check glow plugs'
The engine has started readily throught out the winter and continues to do so without problem even though the 'check glow plugs' light illuminates at most engine starts.
The engine is Euro5 but I'm unable to find the plugs as I want to check each plug, in situ, and the connections for corrosion.
The motor is F1CE3481E and any advise would be appreciated.
David.

This might help. It's a 130 engine but I'm sure the plugs will be in the same place.

But I suspect with a relatively new vehicle the fault may not be in the actual plugs but in the electrical and control system which turns them on and off.

Thanks for the link DBK, but the back of the 3.0Lt engine seems different to that one. Curiosity the injectors seem to have an electric wire going to each. I've previously worked on older diesel engines (Ford 120hp straight 6 direct injection and BMC 1.5 diesel with pre-combustion chambers and heater plugs) but I'm completely unfamiliar with anything like this engine.
Having said all that, I agree, could it be within the wiring or poor connection/s.
David.

modern injectors are pulse width modulated controlled from the ecu some even need to be coded into the system.glow plugs can be tested insitu with a multimeter generally if you get a circuit from top of the plug to earth they are good as mentioned youll probably find it something else
the glowplug light can flag up for many problems you realy need to get codes read can be as simple as filer blocked or water in the filter
