I don’t know anything about either but the ‘selling for a friend‘ bit in the ad on Facebook would have me running for the hills from that one!

The Dethleffs is at 4 and not sure about the Swift. Do people not generally cover to keep clean etc...

When I was looking, Motorhome Depot only seemed to have 'good' vans for sale. They want quick turn around and avoid lemons, it is not worth their time if they have to waste time on warranty repairs etc. I would consider buying from them.

Whichever takes your fancy, it is worth having the vehicle inspected as it is a lot of money you are talking about. Protect yourself as much as possible.

I’d go for the Dethleffs. Personally, I think the build quality is better.
I looked at the tag axle version and looking at the layout, we may have opted for this model as there’s not much between the layouts.
What’s the payload?

So 4005kg will be the weight of the van limit.
Ask him what the payload is.
Payload being how much stuff can you load into the van? your, chairs, luggage, food etc.

note, some van manufacturers advertise a payload as say 500kgs. But out of that are optional extras such as satellite dish, solar panels, awning etc and by the time you’ve finished adding those weights up you’re left with 200kg payload.
From that you have your passengers.
Also, talking if extras, what extras does it have? (Sat dish, solar etc) as if you need those they’ll be extra costs for you to add if not already fitted.

There are 3 of us and potentially 2 dogs..I will check on the payload 👍.
4 belts if I remember correctly. I am getting motorhome blind....bit like snow blind 🤣
