I've just been quoted £560 by Motorsave in Manchester. Is this the going rate now? I want to get it serviced by an authorised Fiat Professional service place as it's still under warranty.

There was a lengthy post just recently and it seams about the going rate. Do you have an extended Fiat warranty as the standard one is 2 years.

I pay about £120 at an independent, Fiat garage £240 for a light service. Full service at the independent around £250, Fiat £450.
I always wait until the 2 years is up then take it to the independent.

No I just have the normal. But plan is to go away for several weeks e.o. August and the warranty expires on 14th September after we go away. So was planning to get it done beforehand. Then if anything happened to the van before the 14th I would still have Fiat Camper Assist to call on.

Yes I intend to take it to an independent after the 2 years but see reply to IRHP.

Hi Lenny
I think I have seen you refer to your independent as being in lancing . As I'm not far I would like to follow your recommendation. Who are they please.

That's a crazy price for not very much more than an oil and filter change.
I'm planning on booking mine in with a Fiat Professional Workshop for a day before the warranty expires. If all good a few days before that, cancel and go to an independent

Try a FP commercial vehicle service agent. We used North East Truck and Van who are an Iveco/Fiat Professional service centre for huge lorries and other commercial vehicles. They charged us £120 for the two year service, five years ago, telling us it was only an oil/filter change, brake fluid check and general check over. We wanted it serviced by an FP dealer, just in case, as they have been known to honour out of warranty claims if they’ve been FP serviced. The following 3rd 4th and 5th year service were all reasonably priced too.
We then changed to a mixture of an independent van service centre and DIY.

ok £600 is eyewatering, BUT is £300 a year which may be considered not too bad, not cheap but!
Also until Fiat warranty expires why would you risk any option on service that renders you liable, just asking as can't see if sh\8t happens how you argue in the warranty period it was serviced as per Fiat instructions, without protracted issue.

Threeways Abergele quoted me £250 for low mileage service as I only do about 8k per year.

Just paid £400 at our local fiat professional for its first 2yr service.

It's also a good idea to go to a fiat dealership now and again to get any recall jobs taken care of.

You can decide if the van requires a full service or a low mileage service - either should get a Fiat stamp in the book and logged on the system. Obviously, the low-mileage service will cost less, if that's appropriate for the vehicle and how far it's travelled.

FP Peterborough just quoted me £618.54 for a first service, not done 9000 miles yet!

They're taking the pee. There's hardly anything to do for a first service. I'm tempted to go with an independent and risk no faults occur before the warranty expires.

When we lived in that part of the country we used guest sherwood FP dealers in thetford very good and helpful and not to pricey

When we bought ours new in Sept 2019 we were not informed about extending the warranty within the first 14 days. When I contacted Fiat they said it was too late to register. But they would look favourably on any major problems up to 6 years as long as it had been serviced by a Fiat dealer.

Paid £230 for first service , Fait Professional garage, basically an oil and filter change , only after 1 year nearly as we are planning to head off abroad, peace of mind for me, expensive and possibly not really necessary but done it.

Waiting as I type for my first service at 2 years old and 6k miles. Nearest main dealer to me £395 plus vat. Plus a breakfast in the nearby cafe with wi fi and an offer to sit as long as I like. 👍

Motorsave charged me £555 last September for a service and MOT, so your quote is in line with that.

Per schedule the service covers engine oil and filter, diesel filter, cabin filter, air filter and brake fluid. So not nearly as trivial as a simple oil change.

They also quoted £1105 for cam belt and water pump. I’ll be shopping around for that job.

Motorsave wouldn’t grease the Al-Ko chassis for some reason. Went elsewhere to get that done.

Had my initial 2 year service done at HTC Theale (Fiat Professional) last week on Fiat Ducato Envy, £442.80 inc VAT for the full service.

Ducato 9 speed auto 1st 2 year service at Motus Derby just over £400, did 4 ecu updates and recalibration of 3rd gear change. Excellent service while you wait took 3 to 4 hours

Warranty expired so I have just done my own Ducato 3 year 30,000 mile service. Non genuine parts cost just over £100 for all filters (inc cabin) and oil. Reset tool for service mileage and oil degredation £149.

That's about what I would expect and be happy to pay.
