I am interested in replacing the steel wheels on our van with alloys. I actually like the look of the standard Fiat ones, but can not find anywhere that sells them.
Anyone got ideas.

Try these

You'd probably be cheaper getting a set of aftermarket "similar look" wheels.

aftermarket similar look are fine, we had some on or VW and two rims had to be changed plus you want the manufactuer backed loading garuntee

Hi pikeman and I dont think I would buy that type of alloy wheel if I had the chance as I am just about to have my alloy wheels refurbished after only being just under 2 years old .They are what they call diamond cut and the shiny bit is what starts to pity ! I have been told to get the wheels powder coated which will last longer but I'm afraid they dont have the lovely shiny finish .

That's interesting, that happened to me some years ago on a car I owned. Pitting after only 20 months. Thanks for the heads up!

2 of our Fiat Diamond wheels are just starting to pit/peel only done 8K miles, and kept them clean & waxed.(now out of Fiat warranty)
I would never have diamond cut finish wheels if given a choice, as Cliffyboy says they will always need refurbishing, which normally involves having the whole wheel powder coated to prevent same happening again.
We had similar experiences on a new BMW, Also Split Rims on a new Mini Cooper S.
Never again will we have diamond cut finished wheels, would rather have steels with plastic trims on a MH now, much more practical.
Look for plain steel wheels, or alloy ones that are fully painted.

We have just had our wheels powder coated as we had the problem with the diamond cut wheels they made our Bertie look shabby
We used a local Grantham firm who talked us through the process and showed us examples of finished wheels they had virtually and colour you wanted and the boss chooses the high gloss finish which really does shine she bought some wheel nut covers and now his boots are better than new
The company advised against the diamond cut but would have re done it it would cost more and would not last very long looking nice.
£360 for a new set of powder coated well worth it

Had diamond cuts on an Alfa Giulia. 30,000 miles- no pitting at all. None. Currently got them on another Alfa. Now done 10,000 miles. No pitting.

As previously said, only FIAT sell the originals and they are hellish expensive. They are a beast of a wheel though (don't expect to save any weight these are heavy commercial wheels). The lacquer will peel but the trick is to catch it as soon as it starts. Sand it back and reapply lacquer (which is readily available and easy to work with)

Take your pick from these. They supply around the country and are well worth the money. We had a new set from these for our Apache 634 and was chuffed to bits

Why change from Steel to Alloy when there are a number of threads on here commenting on alloys pitting, leaking air after a short time, let alone they are prone to skuffing which wears them out quicker. The cost of refurbishing alloys after the original cost is expensive just for a ‘style’ thing. IMHO

We scuffed a couple of diamond cut wheels on our car. Many “refurbishers” were not interested in repairing them as it wasn’t considered economical for the time taken.

I looked for a replacement set for a previous van. My enquiries and research lead me to a german company that produced correct weight rated alloys for heavy vans. A choice of styles around £700 a set of 4

The name escapes me, but I remember they are TUV approved and tested

I went for Borbet alloys from Germany TUV approved with a 1310kgs weight rating. I used a company called tyresave and got 4 along with alloy metal valves for £640 delivered. Also kudos to the owner Duncan as one arrived damage and after I sent him some pics he came straight back to tell me another has been sent and the damaged one was picked up.

These are the alloys we went for, PCD 5/118, ET68 15" for our Ducato based Rapido.
