As you can see from the pic I currently have a Vango driveaway awning. Having a none to healthy wife I find its impossible to erect the awning without help and as for driving away thats easy but try connecting it back up again on your own in the dark and its bound to be raining.

With this in mind Ive been looking at the caravanstore mainly because once its on MH it can stay attached for the season and more important i can operate it on my own. Anyone out there got any experience good or bad of using one. Obviously you need to be aware of windy weather but that can be said about any awning.

PITA to roll up and zip away if you are on your own is my experience of these.
Cheers, Dave(y)

Thanks Dave All I want is a bit of shade from the sun rather than sleeping /storage space.

I gave up on awnings because they are such a pain solo (especially when one is five foot tall). I had an oxygen movelite inflatable awning which worked very well and was very manageable on my own (I threw straps over the roof) but we don't use it enough to bother. A roll out awning, or even easier an umbrella, is as much faff as I’m prepared to bother with now!
