FIAMMA Awning Shock Absorber Springs. Anyone Changed Them?

When I unwind my awning it drops suddenly when the support arms emerge! I'm unsure if this is intended or whether the shock absober springs need replacing.

Any one know?

Have tried tightening the nuts, mine was the opposite and was not closing correctly, I loosened the nuts and it’s fine now.
Definitely worth a go.
