I've heard a bit of groaning in a bit of wind from one end of the awning but not looked until a while ago. If it can be seen in the pic, but there is a crack in the plastic end cap. I can only just about reach up until I find a ladder from somwhere, but it still feels secure. Anyone had this? Will it wait another month until I get home?

I can't imagine that the integrity of the awning is down to a plastic end cap...but then again!

I have looked at your pic but can't see an obvious crack. Which area do you think it is?

Follow the plastic end cap vertically from the inside until you see the crack running diagonal to the left. It then appears again running vertical until disappearing up behind the awning. I've been able to get a ladder and go up for a look and the end cap seems to be secure enough So hopefully it will survive until home again

Ok. I see what you mean now that I have zoomed in on it. I don't know where the mounting bolts are but, if you can't move it , it should be firm enough to travel with. How far from home are you?

About 1500 miles, we're down in Spain. I have a feeling it may have been like this for sometime so I'll keep an eye on it.

I thought you might say you are abroad. As you say. It may have been like it a while but if it doesn't move you should be ok.
Safe travelling.

To be on the safe side I would put a decent cable tie round the end with the crack when travelling. Imagine it coming off at speed:(

Thanks for the replies. I took the end cap off yesterday after watching a clip of an awning fabric being replaced on utube. I was horried to discover the crack had left the entire end hanging on by just one self tapper! I was able to effect a good enough repair until I can replace it.

Thanks to a fellow funster who had a repair on his awning whilst at the Benicarlo rally in March, I have the part on order and can collect in a day or two!
