Looking for tips on good stopovers where you can eat good quality food and stay over night either in the pub/restaurant carpark or nearby public carpark.

Cheers

El port de la Silva, great paella, free parking behind hotel

Was asking for tips in UK really..... but happy to accept all suggestions :)

There is a Facebook group CampingPubs that’s quite active. You can search for locations in past posts or post a new request. Landlords who offer overnighting or camping also post their pubs.

And are we talking about ‘foodie’ places or just decent meals?

If the latter, then Britstops, otherwise I too would be interest in foodie stops.

Nice place , good food and beer , free stopover for motorhomes, phone first.

Maybe try looking the other way round. Identify a pub/restaurant where you would like to go, have a look at their car park on google maps, and phone and ask them whether you could stay.
My impression is that most places will gladly let you stay, if they've got the room. :)

How about the Bluebell Inn at Whaplode St Katherine near Holbeach. Great pub with excellent food, plenty of tables.
There is also a micro brewery on site with the beers sold in pub,
Motorhome stop over in car park, and a 5 van CMC CL with fully serviced pitches
We have stayed there for weekends, as a base for touring south Lincs, and gone up just for some good meals
Hosts John & Jen are great fun as well, being motorhomers themselves.
Just don't tell too many people about it, please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
