We are going to be taking our English Setter away in our MoHo looking for advice does anyone use a fabric dog crate? If so how sturdy are they and any recommendations welcome.

If you have a dog who likes being caged they're ok, if not the dog could rip through the netting type breathing windows.

Our two travel no problem in a blue fabric cage.
The trick, of course, is to start as you mean to go on...

Do they need to be crated? We have ours in a harness, attached to one of the rear seat belts, which holds him on the seat very well. Depending on size, of course - ours have always been Jack Russells, so quite small. Same on the car, you can buy an adjustable strap which attaches a harness to the closed seat belt. That can be used with or without a passenger!! BUT, don’t forget to disable the airbag if you do this!!,

We have two of these :

The fold up when we get where we're going and get stored in the garage.

Most fabric carriers have a collapsible metal frame inside. We've got a large'ish one that was fine for holding 2x6kg cats with a ton of room to spare.

Some however just rely on the piping around the edge to hold their shape. Not sure I'd trust those.

I got 2 of these from Ebay and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. They have the metal poles inside that make them extremely sturdy. Our American Bulldog did chew her way out, BUT she isn't called naughty Bobbi for nothing. Any normal dog will be absolutely fine (we knew she was going to do it, but it was worth a go!)
