I would like to hear of Funsters' experience and solutions to this conundrum.

Is there such an arrangement where motorhomers get the benefit of an external rear camera, with on the road and parking camera angles that is monitored, as now, live, but is also recordable for that dreaded moment of evidence?

Over to you.

If you use CCTV kit it's perfectly possible to monitor, record, movement detect, at a much lower price than doing the same with vehicle-type cameras. There are some very small and neat CCTV cameras around - I've been been using one as a reversing camera for a couple of years or so.

What kit have you got? Is it suitable to use as a rear view monitor? We have a parking camera but not one that looks at the traffic behind.

I have one camera as a rear view along with a 10" 1080p monitor. Whilst researching cameras I came across a lot of CCTV stuff and was surprised at how cheap full surveillance and recording could be.

Thanks Tony

Thanks again.
