2012 Hymer exsis-i. Reich Trend E bathroom / shower tap.
Attempting to replace the micro switch on my bathroom tap, I've wrecked the tap, there's an internal component that holds the micro switch in place. I dropped this and the prong holding the switch broke off. New tap well over £200, so decided to install a whale pressure switch instead.
However, I cant see any where to install the pressure switch. As shown in the photo, outlet from Reich submersible pump comes out of the top of the tank, runs along the top of the tank, and disappears into the MH wall. There is not enough space to fit the pressure switch upright in this run, although I could fit it if it lay sideways. Whale instructions say switch can be suspended in pipe run, but doesn't say it must be upright.
Can any of you experts think of a reason why it couldn't be installed on it's side? I would place some form of sound insulation pad under it.
Many thanks

I’m not sure if it will work or not but someone may have installed it that way, however, once you get it working you can then use domestic house taps instead of the expensive ones. I’ve just put one in our shower room basin and it was £36 from Wickes, all you need are a couple of 15 to 12mm adapters which you can get from Magnums.

I think the pressure switch can be installed anywhere in the cold feed pipework as it just senses the drop in pressure in the system. Mine is down next to the water heater, nowhere near the water tank. You would then have to run the switching cable back to the water pump connection somehow though
Alternatively could you not fit the switch in the gap at the end of the tank and just tee a loop of the softer translucent pipework to it?

If you are unsure then it can be fitted anywhere on the cold supply network as the pressure drop will activate without a problem.

The problem I have is that the cold feed is'nt accessible anywhere else before it meets all the Ts etc in the bathroom.
