Just booked to travel over this month, when it comes to return trip all trains booked up till 2ed of september, looks like a long break then.

July was easy plenty, but august when i tried fully booked for all trains.

Rather than go for the six weeks of the summer holidays, we decided to take some of the family over to France for s glorified booze cruise adding another £68 onto the price. They are ensuring their profits do not suffer.

Lookout - mid-July to end of August is the time when the entire French nation (except for restaurant staff) goes on holiday - mostly in France. Bastille Day for the high-ups and 1st August for everyone else.

Just looked at prices, thought they would be sky high with the p&o thing but no there's plenty and reasonable.

I looked for a crossing this weekend and it was horrendouse well over 300 v a ferry for 188 (Irish Ferries) so as it was only a week we are away going to Northumberland instead. Got a return in October for 130 though.

Booked up for tunnel in May yesterday as I thought prices would go silly but it was the same as I paid last October, just over £200 for van and the 2 pups one way.

Our crossing was a bit cheaper as it's one way and £75 of Tesco vouchers always helps
