I have today renewed my annual van insurance it also includes breakdown cover. I wanted to confirm a few points regarding
Travelling to Spain for 90 days at the beginning of January (we haven’t decided yet if we should go). One of the problems that was pointed out to me that I hadn’t even considered was. If you break down and all the garages have been forced to shut you may not be able to access recovery and repair. Just something else to bear in mind!

Could be the same in the UK....... but if a "lockdown" becomes so severe, why would you wish to go?

At present we don’t think we will be going but things may change so we are keeping an open mind!

As I keep saying I broke down recently in Austria then Germany no issues. Why cant people just make a decision based on their personal requirements.😬

We broke down in Spain 2 years ago we had excellent service the van was in the garage for 3 days while they accessed the part needed.
I was just stating what the company told me when I renewed this morning.
I was in Spain in March when we were asked to leave the campsite we were on, everything g closed down overnight including garage services you may get rescued from the road site but may not get a repair.

I think you can just worry yourself to death with the 'what ifs.' The decision to go or not will be based on different criteria for everyone, and we all have differing attitudes to risk. You'll never cover every eventuality, and those who are worried by that thought, probably won't enjoy themselves if they go.
We haven't decided yet. We're waiting to see what the next couple of months bring, but, so long as we can get adequate insurance cover, we'll probably take the risk and go.
