Why does my little flag say I'm in the uk?

Are you sure you travelled over/under a large expanse of water, or just went over the Dartford crossing, if the latter then you're still in the UK! :giggle:

Are you using a uk sim in mifi?

Good luck with the passport. If it doesn’t go well just keep going to different vets one will do it.

I made sure vet was giving a passport before giving the rabies booster.

Yep all done, vet fully understands the complication that br***t has brought us. Coĺlect all the bumf tomorrow, vet even offered to pay to register chip (€9) as a french cheque was needed then I'll pay her cash.
Dont know total cost yet for rabies booster and passport.
I'm using my uk sim on roaming.

Great news.

We had worming tablet info put onto AHC and new passport just incase one wasn’t excepted. Wasn’t needed as new passport was all good, but was happy to have it just incase, and vet was ok with it too.

Nice one just for clarification does this mean you need to get the rabies booster done in France when it's due? 👍

How long do you have to be in France before they will allow you to register the dogs?

Sounds like a very user friendly Vet, would you be able to share the details please?

Cheers

Vet asked how long I would stay in France ( I said maximum 3 months) and if I would return (yes).

Great news! Would you be able to do a little write up about the vet you used in the Local Guide section?

Local Guide France

Also, anyone else that has recently acquired a French pet passport - could you do the same please? That way we should end up with an easily accessible database of helpful French vets.

If your dog has had the rabies jab in U.K. is it valid in EU or is the required procedure now to get a new EU pet passport.
if I have an Irish Passport does this apply to pet rules in any way?
Its all very confusing, what’s the best definitive literature on the subject please!

Rabies uk is valid (its on your AHC) mine was due a booster in December ( vet asked if I wanted it) otherwise the vet will transfer the details from AHC to new passport. If you dont want a new passport then you would need a new AHC each visit.
These are the rules as I understand them at the moment, but could obviously change in the future when Boris an Macaroon stop being children (or are even not in power anymore)

Sorry don’t understand this, if I get a new pet passport in this country, is it valid in EU?

csd4t - the booster info is great, many thanks for sharing. Oscar's still got 2 years left on his booster so we were concerned about him having another as he had his last booster a year early (last September) before having a Titre test.

You mentioned staying on a campsite nearby, would you recommend it?

Cheers and many thanks 👍

Just to clarify  Was the vet willing to provide a new passport without giving a booster? My 2 pups had boosters late last year and I would prefer not to give them another one at the moment. I assume the vet will transfer the info over from the old UK passport.

Has anyone done this yet? Just wondering if there have been any problems returning to UK with a new passport (without a new booster).

Yep no problem, I just used the campsite address where I'm staying
Are you staying at Twin Lakes? The vet you used saved our dogs life a few years ago when she got infected by a Tic they were brilliant.

Just noticed that the "Valid from" date is 25.08.21 (3 weeks after booster on 04.08.21) - just something to be aware of in case you were thinking of having it done at the end of your hols 👍

You don’t need the passport to return to the uk. The AHC you went out with will cover you for that. We chose to use the new passport to return to the uk, as to “check” it. The really nice chap at pet check then asked us for dogs old passport as if the new rabies jab, in the new passport was the first we would not be able to travel with it, as it requires 28 days. But all good as just booster.

Yep her old one (recorded on the AHC) was until December
