Hello

Fiat 2000 2.8Tdi Iveco Engine.

It has been stood for some months, six I think.

Not had a coolant change since we got it, 2016.

I was thinking if flushing with Citric acid on a short motorway jaunt..

Then Mannol AF12 or AF13++

Any suggestions or tips please?

Be very careful, I flushed two cars, a Renault Espace and a Dodge Grand Caravan. Neither of the heaters ever worked properly again, and both had ongoing cooling problems. Apparently all engines have a specific method of power flushing to avoid sludge being circulated. Personal experience only.

If it has the correct coolant that is up to date and no issues, it shouldn’t be needed.

Personally I wouldn’t bother with the flush.

Just replace the coolant i.e. drain and refill with new.
