Electrostatic Blinds - Do They Work On Roof Windows? (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone

Our new-to-us Benimar has two huge windows in the roof. One over the cab and one just behind it. When we were driving it home the other day, the sun was shining through them onto the seats in the hab area. The problem was that our little dog was travelling on one of the seats, using a seat belt harness, and she was getting extremely hot (we live in the south of France). We pulled over and closed the concertina blinds on both windows but then, as we were driving, the blinds above the cab were being pulled up against the window and the ones on the other window were being pulled down and almost fell out of the runners. So, this is not possible long term, as the blinds will get damaged.

So, I'm looking for alternative solutions and saw electrostatic blinds like these https://tinyurl.com/5x6nehtt . Does anyone know if these would work on the roof windows, please, or would they fall off due to being horizontal? If these aren't suitable, do you know of any other solution, please? No, they were closed None of the windows or vents were open at all, so I'm not even sure what was causing the suction effect on the blinds We did have the cab air-con on but I'm not sure how that might have affected them, if at all.

Strange……. We’ve found that the suction-effect only happens when we have the blind drawn, and the roof-light is on its first opening position at night, when the wind blows across the ‘van roof.
Anybody got any others ideas…..?
