Elddis Aspire
Hi All.
Bit of a thank you to Janiemou for your post Aug 2019 really.
We have an Elddis Aspire with an Autowatch alarm system. We have had the same issue with the alarm not setting properly when locking on the key fob.
Turns out it is the same failure of the rear door sensor. Its the little white thing in the door frame itself (there are some pics on previous posts on janiemou's posts). Its a little barrel with a flange on the end you can see in the frame. Moisture has got in to the back of it and corroded the wires that attache to other end. One of the wires had broken off completely causing the problem.
We had DK Car Audio & Security 07970 119192 come out and sort it.
When the alarm was fitted whoever did it didn't bother to seal the end up to prevent moisture ingress but worse than that, they extended the cables by just twisting them together and sticking them to the underside of the motorhome with some sort of mastick. They hadn't soldered them together or even covered them with shrink sleeve.
Sorry for the length of this post, hope it helps someone.

Our Elddis alarm had the same shoddy installation. I took a couple of photos and sent them to the dealer saying i wasn't impressed. The installer was a contractor so I hope he got a bollocking, this was July 2014 though, so it seems nothing has changed.

I joined and shrink wrapped the cables, clipped them up underneath and sealed the hole where the cable came up into the van.

Also there was a big hole in the back of the rear light where the reversing camera wire had been bodged into it, shocking workmanship 🤔

Sounds like the same guy has fitted both.
Literally for the sake of an extra half an hour they could have done a proper job and got a better name for themselves.

I think Autowatch only sell the kit to contractors so the quality of the install is down to the individual contractor. Luck of the draw?
Try complaining to Autowatch they might pay you some compensation or have it fitted properly by another chap

It was already on it when we bought the van, it just stopped working a few weeks back. The chap that cane out from DK Car Audio and Security seems to really know his stuff. He even extended the grey wire that give the fault code when earthed. He is contacting autowatch for a new sensor. Hopefully it will be on its way soon.

My bonnet sensor was causing false alarms because it was just being pushed by the insulation under the bonnet. I fitted a French plastic shopping cart disc to the spot. It's been perfect since
