Hi, new to here. We are looking to go to Hogmanay for new year, all the sites appear to be full within reasonable walking distance from the centre, does anybody know of any other places to park a tag axle motorhome without any grief? Thanks.

Try Mortonhall, that's where we are going. 20mins on the bus, every 15mins in the day and hourly right through the night. No problem with tag, it's a large site. Highly recommended.

Mortonhall will be the closest and would be ideal for the city, personally I wouldn’t recommend it but if your stuck it would do for a day or two.
If you’re in the CMC try the CL at Damhead, basic but nice little site with the option of over 6 different busses about 10 min walk.

There’s a lovely site at Musselburgh Drumhoir or similar, it’s a 5-10 walk from Wallyford P&R which is next to train station so more options. Not sure if it’s open so need to check.

If you don’t need facilities then try The Old Colliery next to Sheriffhall P&R, you can stay free if you nip in for some food or drinks

There's also CL and a Slatebarns caravan site, both next to the famous Roslin Chapel (from The DaVinci Code film).
Don't know if they're both open at that time of year.
