Hi top

When the vehicle is parked up and connected to hook up, does the control panel have to be turned on aswell as the charging unit to enable battery charging? My vehicle battery doesn’t seem to charge with just the charger switched on
I was led to believe that the control panel only needed turning on if you required electric for leisure purpose( using lights, appliances etc)
Many thanks

On our van, being on hook up will not charge the vehicle battery only the leisure battery. For that reason, we have fitted a Battery Master (available from this site) which makes sure that our vehicle battery is always charged.
Also, there is no need for the control panel to be powered on for the mains charger to charge the leisure battery. The control panel on our van only affects the 12v side of the van. Hope this helps.

Make and model and year of motorhome would be a help. On our Autotrail the control panel above the door has to be switched on and cab battery selected.

For your model in order to charge the vehicle battery on EHU the charger and the contol panel with vehicle selected have to be ON.

On my 08 Autotrail, with an EC225 control panel, the default is to charge Leisure if control panel is OFF.
With panel ON, I can select Leisure or Engine battery, but not both. If I select Engine, but the charger is OFF, then all loads (lights, pump etc) are supplied by the Engine battery.
