Eau de cassette

How does the gloves help a fresh water tap?

Just clean the tap with a wipe or wet cloth before attaching your hose . And always run it a few seconds too before connecting your hose.
Exactly the water comes out of the inside not outside, still dirty people.

I dont touch the inside of the pipe that's just clean water.
Exactly, that’s why I think the water issuing from a mains fed tap is clean and potable
But you cannot assume that the outside of the tap, including the handle, is clean

But as Northernraider says run it for a bit then use it it's all clean I don't bother about the outside as I don't drink from there and the last thing I do after putting hise away is wash my hands.

That’s fine, imho, wearing gloves isn’t compulsory, I happen to feel more comfortable doing so.

The point is

Your gloves are doing more harm than good , the same way they did during covid.

Your hands are waterproof
I know my hands are waterproof, I also know that intact skin is extremely good at keeping “foreign” microbes out.
I’m interested in why you believe that wearing gloves does more harm than good?

Because if you are wearing one pair of gloves to empty your cassette and the same gloves to touch taps other people are using you're transferring the germs.. if you're then reusing those same gloves they are probably crawling with germs.

Just wash your hands properly. Use hand sanitiser if really necessary but there's no reason to wear gloves doing anything unless you have broken skin and cuts on your hands.

If you're using disposable gloves and thinking it saves washing hands it doesn't.

So really it's just a waste

Unnecessary glove use should be avoided and is not a replacement for hand washing. So to wear the gloves you need to wash your hands twice ...without the gloves only once is necessary. Not to mention the contaminated gloves need to be disposed of.

Basically unless you have broken skin or open cuts etc gloves are simply Unnecessary.

easily disposable if contaminated 😎😁
What?? They are throwaway.
I use latex gloves when working & keep boxes in the van . use once in the bin.
But what do the gloves achieve the poo/wee is inside the tank not outside unless of course you're like Lenny HB and dig itwith your hands🤣🤣🤣🤣
If you turn up,like I did right behind the lazy ++++ who could not be bothered to lift the grill at Canterbury P&R & have to get the rope to lift it out of his s++t so that you can empty you need gloves.
I never go near a cassette point if anyone else is there,
This ^^^^^^ too many dirty ````
Whilst emptying our tanks at a site on Oleron yesterday a French guy proceeded to empty his cassette at the drinking water point, kindly putting the spout directly on the tap, fairly gross TBH.
I always assume everything is contaminated & treat it as such.
Apart from your putting contaminant from your gloves on the tap for the next person
as above disposable .
I would never use anything else

It doesn't matter the germs put on the outside of the tap don't just sit there they multiply by the 000's & have infected everything long before the dirty basteward who touched it has even got back to his van.

Here at home I have a pozo negro. When I work on it I don't always use gloves but when I don't,& even when I worked if I wasn't sure & had no gloves, afterwards I wash first using neat bleach. Then soap after.
Above might be the only time I would ever use industrial rubber gloves & then i wash using bleach before taking them off.

Fortunately now I do not have to bother with any of the above since we installed a seperating toilet equipped with a fan

Firstly, as I have said, I wear gloves as the prospect of contacting other people’s urine and excrement is not appealing, that is the contamination I am referring to, caused by inappropriate rinsing techniques
Secondly, if you’re discussing “germs” then maybe you should consult a microbiologist regarding your assumption regarding gloves “crawling with germs”, particularly if they are washed (it’s easier to wash before removal) removed and dried.
Thirdly, why do you think the exterior of a cassette should be considered contaminated with either body fluids or microbes?
Fourthly, have you been trained in cross-infection control, including appropriate handwashing techniques and aseptic no-touch procedures?

Nitrile gloves are sold as disposable and in a clinical situation where cross-infection control is vital and paramount, then of course they should be single patient use only
If, however they are being used as a barrier, and are undamaged, then washing them on your hands, then removing them and allowing them to dry for reuse is, I believe, perfectly acceptable
This also reduces the amount of unrecyclable waste generated.

Your story keeps changing.

Just wash your hands . You obviously only care about yourself and not anyone who uses the taps etc after you.

You sound like one of the people who wore a mask alone inside your own car.

P.s yes I have been trained 👍

To what level?

I’m sorry, but you are sounding like a typical social media ignoramus
I think you've claimed that prize. Listen if wasting gloves and looking like a prat at the service points floats your boat you knock yourself out

But seriously you're boring me now

I’m glad
But, before you piss off to Morocco with the dogs, indulge me by telling me, and this forum, what knowledge, training and experience you have in microbiology and cross infection control?
