DVLA industrial action to continue !

A news item came up on iPad 18 hours ago. Which stated that industrial action still continue at the DVLA !!
Paper transactions are been done ASAP , do NOT phone to ask about about the progress”.

I kept phoning for two days and got through and was satisfied with outcome.

Suggestion if you want to speak to a human, don’t just give up when you get the engaged signal, keep pressing the repeat button on your phone.

A very happy Colyboy who can pick up his new Motorhome on Monday.

We have manged to get through to speak to a human, but each time they say the same thing that it could take up to 6 weeks. In fact, the last call yesterday, we were advised 6-8 weeks. I know that there are others who have been waiting longer and are worse off than us so just going to bide our time a little longer

Renewed my wife's licence on Tuesday, it arrived Friday, very impressed. We did do this all online and very easy.

I keep checking on my C1,D1 renewal on line but I am now driving under section 88 1988 road traffic act as my licence has expired. A receipt signature was acquired then it was put to the bottom of the pile. Hopefully it should be issued some time this year.

Same here, just wait now, and if some over zealous plod wants to prosecute me for no licence, i will have my day in court

Mother in law received a renewal notice for her licence, accompanying letter advising her to apply now. Her old licence expires in December so we will do it online for her. I did mine online in February, only took three days to arrive.

Unbelievable, Just had an email from DVLA telling me that the RFL for MH has been renewed as from 1 July, and the money will be taken from my bank account accordingly.
They can do this, but cannot get my driving licence with C1 back to me, they have only had it since March !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would love to send email back telling them that they can have the money when i get the licence, ,

My understanding is everything automated is as normal, it's the things that need people to process are taking an age. I'm in the same boat as others, my license expired and I ain't got the new one back, so I'm driving illegally. I did ask a copper in the village what the story would be if I got stopped, he said I'd be charged and have to go to court... where it would be promptly thrown out. I said it sounds daft charging people if it's going to get thrown, he replied by shaking his head, saying, they think we've got nothing better to do. Go figure, as the yanks say.

My Son had a medical problem and was renewing his licence yearly. He had his medical in December and his licence arrived today. Thank God he no longer needs to renew it yearly. They had said he could drive all the time his licence was with the medical department.
