As title please, can anyone recommend a spot within 10-15 miles of Duxford, approaching from the North. I need to be there for 10am one morning so driving and staying overnight in the van would be better than the car as it is 150 miles from where I live.
Many thanks.

BTW< if you are using A14 from Huntingdon then M11, beware of new A14 changes,
If you let me know where you are coming from i can let you know how it affects you.

Travelling from York on the A1, A14, M11. Along way to go for a 30min trip in a Tiger Moth but time to spend my Christmas present (y)

Lorries park up here for the night, but you might get a bit of traffic noise from the A11

Brilliant, many thanks. Take my hearing aids out and I won't even hear should anyone break in

On A1 you no longer take the A14 link at Alconbury, stay on A1 to Brampton Hut but make sure to follow all signs.
Have fun, Duxford is a good day out as well

There is always a couple of moho’s in the car park at Duxford when I pass. Maybe worth asking them if you can stay the night before in yours.

Duxford doesn't let you over night.

I've sent you a message with a suggestion, I have some more if you want them. there is also a CS near buy next to a good pub.
We bought the Tiger Moth flight for my father in law, he loved it.

The new A14 is a huge improvement and makes the 2 years of roadworks worth it!

I have seen motorhomes overnight in the car park At St Judith,s Field , sawtry , cambs. It’s on your way and about 20 mins from Duxford .

Hi.
Second try. There used to be an old Airfield at Great Grensden ? Cam/Huntingdon.. Into village,up a lane past a pub and its up there. Spent many a Quiet night on there....after leaving the pub. Used to load out of there, just off the airfield. Try Google earth to spy out the plot.

Also check local driving news as sometimes roads here are shut overnight or for the weekend. But it is so much better to drive to and from A14/M11 junction.

Very large layby just off OLD A14. Used to be used a lot by trucks but the new A14 route takes them further West so should always be a space now.
Fenstanton, Huntingdon PE28 9JB. If coming from the North down A1 - branch off left to Alconbury/Huntingdon (this is the old A14).... Follow road to the end and you are forced off at Huntingdon Spittles roundabout - straight ropad for 5 miles over various roundabouts and you end up in St Ives.
When you get to the double mini roundabout with Tesco on right and BP on left, go RIGHT and you are on that road that comes down in my map to the yellow circled layby.

Brilliant you'll love it. My son had this trip for his birthday. He was 10 at the time and once he landed he couldn't speak as he was soooo amazed. It was a bright yellow Tiger Moth.
