My last two motorroams had the 'bin' under the dash twixt seats, this one has the cup-holder.

Need to remove it to get at the 12v socket and fag-lighter so that the wiring and apertures can be repurposed. So, the two obvious screws at the top removed but it aint budging. I was hoping that it would sort of hinge a bit like the bin does, but it's immovable, so far.

Any clues, please, peeps

Is there a screw under the round rubber mat just above the lighter?
That's how the X250 panel is removed.

Yes @Gellyneck there is a screw under the rubber mat between the two cup holders. The front part is held to the chassis behind by a number of spring clips, so will need a good tug to remove even once the screws have been undone.

Maybe we're talking at cross purposes?
Is there a screw under the round mat above the 12v supply and cigarette lighter in picture 2?
On the X250 you unscrew that and the long narrow panel under the radio, etc unclips out.
This is what it looks like from the underside.

Your X290- may be different though.
And apologies if it's me misunderstanding!

On the X290 version, the rubber mat is in a square cutout located between the two cup holders. The screw is under the rubber mat

You can just remove the panel with the cig lighter and usb in as @Gellyneck says the cup holder next to the cig lighter has a screw under the mat, just take that out and then prise out switch panel with the two sockets in it.(y)(y)(y)

Yip, we're talking at cross purposes!
The area I'm talking about is here -

Lift the rubber insert and there should be a screw under it. Undo that and the panel with the sockets in it prises out as shown in my previous photo.
@Speve seems to think likewise however as we have an X250 it may be different?

Sorry all, wrong cup holders!

Okayyyy ... thanks everyone.

Accessed the 12v and fag lighter by removing retaining screw and pulling off panel as per Garrat & Gellyneck's posts. Fag-lighter was a bugger to get out tho', had to resort to dremel and cutting disk.
2x2.1a USB sockets now wired to fag-lighter circuit, 12v socket how under dash with Garmin GPS/Traffic receiver plugged into it and the aperture where the socket was now has a USB socket connected to the back of the Pioneer head unit I'm installing.
Post pix when done, which at current rate for progress will be about Easter ...
Thanks all.
