I'm currently deciding whether to polish up my headlights again or go for new units.
I'm having trouble finding both sides as nobody seems to have both sides in stock in RHD.
However, I've come across an adaptor cable that allows the use of purple plug headlights on a yellow plug van. Purple plug headlights are readily available in both sides and appear to be cheaper too.
My question is, has anyone done this conversion? The sites selling the units show that the lights are suitable for the year of my van, but I just wanted to check that they fit correctly without any major issues.
TIA
Alan

Not an answer to your question, I know. But the headlights can be easily restored.

Mine, which are a similar age to yours.

Massive difference between the 2. What did you use to clean them with???

Various grades of wet and dry, hand sand, soapy water, then buff them up with machine I use to polish van/car and some compound. About an hour a headlight I’d think.

As above if pretty bad, did the same some years ago and very effective. There’s some specialist Maguire stuff which I used on one of my cars that wasn’t as bad that worked but for another other I just used autoglym polish and that worked well.

I replaced LDS this morning, new unit from Autodoc £114 delivered. The previous had water ingress due some over ethusastic steam cleaning of the engine bay

Thinks your self lucky it’s just a headlamp, I have seen main ECU destroyed with a jet wash,

I did clean them up a couple of years ago.

Was just going to get new units for keeping in case of sale or accident. The limited supply makes me uneasy.
I had a look at autodoc but they don't specify whether they're left or rhd, and the only reviews are not in English which says a lot.
I can't see why there would be an adapter cable available if the units don't fit. Perhaps I'll ask coastal as they sell both.
