Ducato Glove Compartment Latch/Catch

The passenger side (rhd) refuses to stay shut, I have removed the old latch (or should it be catch) but it will not repair and there is no trace of such on line.

It seems that the failure of the latch (catch) is not uncommon.

Not keen to buy a whole compartment, so is screwing it shut the only option? Does anybody have any ideas?

What about a overhead push-button locker catch?

scrapyard part. Identical on all the ducato/boxer vans. A liberal spray with silicon lubricant works wonders if you hadn't taken it appart
