Hi Funsters
Any idea where I can get a replacement component please?

Could try ringing Crashdata in liverpool re a repair.

For more info use the search button up and right.

I know little first hand about the Fiat sensor but if you click on 'See compatible vehicles' in the ad below you'll see it says this unit is compatible with yours. Best give them a call to confirm.
(Only 2 left apparently so be quick!)

There is a European wide shortage. Been waiting 4 weeks, others I know waiting since mid Feb. Let me know if you have any luck as I have tried.

Same problem here, failed MOT. Simpsone Motorhomes ,Gorleston, unable to get a unit, due to worldwide shortage.
Tried the Fiat garage locally, no problems with supplies, and they have 9 units in stock.
Having ours fitted tomorrow, £335 ouch , comes with 2 yr warranty

Speak to Fiat Camper helpline in Italy.
My van was 4 years old and they paid for the part. I only paid labour.
Tell them the vehicle is low mileage and you wouldn't expect a part like this to fail as the vehicle is like new. If you have full service history its also worth mentioning.

It beggars belief. How many Funsters have suffered this airbag ECU failure?
One more than you thought.. Going out this afternoon to read codes, ring Crashdata and spend.
2013 van, first time its failed.

Tripping error codes on the airbag unit could be a sign of a failing engine battery. Battery not holding a full charge.

Folowing on from post 14.
Got to van and reinstalled the airbag ecu. Ignition on and after 30 secs or so airbag fault lamp on.
Connected pc with multiecuscan to van, one code on airbag ecu B0102, intermittent connection to ecu grounding.
Connected jump lead from battery earth to case of airbag ecu, reset ecu, same fault came on.
Rang crashdata, they cant fix that fault. New ecu £351.60 but no stock, maybe august.
Rang coastal motorhomes, no stock but current price £ 213.10.
At this point nothing to lose so opened the ecu. On the pcb are some bare tracks that make contact with the case when lid screwed on. Cleaned these areas with my best hanky.
Refitted and ok for 5 mins, fault not reappeared. Coincidence maybe or perhaps it will be back next time engine is started.
Cost 50 euro for software, £12 for adapter leads, already had elm327 connector.
Reading others posts it seems some have multiple fault codes so perhaps having just one fault code is unusual.

In my case the van had not been driven for just 10 days. Engine battery was barely 4 years old. (I am now going to replace it anyway).

I looked at the Ducato section of the FIAT forum. From a quick search, the airbag ECU fault seldom affects commercial Ducato vans, only MHs.

Mostly because MoHo battery are often allowed to go too flat. Commercial vans seldom have flat batteries because they are being used ever day.

Just got this off the Crashdata site

We have spoken with Fiat finally, (after weeks of chasing people for some answers) and it is not good news unfortunately. They have placed a stop on all our orders and they have told me that they don't think it will be before the end of August that we can get modules. Further more, we are not able to place any more orders for the time being.
To be honest, we are a bit unsure what to suggest from here. We can keep on as we were with an understanding that it will be end of August before we can get you a new one, or we can get your module back to you and see if you have any better luck. If you are able to source a module, you are welcome to send it over to us and we can code it up for you.

I understand this is not the news any of you (or we) were hoping for and if we could do anything to speed up the process, we would.
In the meantime, please keep an eye on this page as we will update as we are able to get modules back in stock.

Yes you are probably correct, it's unbelievable that these are in so short supply especially as Fiat are aware of the problem.

There is a global shortage of microchips that is impacting supply chains in the automotive sector. (Amongst others)could this be the cause of the delay?

Had new unit fitted yesterday at Fiat dealership, splashed out on new as wanted to use MH and MOT expires on 26th
(Told by Simpsons Motorhomes that unit not available.)

Cost £350. 2 yr warranty,
Asked about supply levels, no problems, in fact they have 8 units in stock.

Hi I checked is out a while back, I thinks is for earlier models, mine a 2016, it will not solve the problem.

It all depends on the model number. I called them last week and they said they are intermittently getting some in from Fiat, no idea when or how many. Today I happened to be refreshing the page on the web site when it popped up as 2 in stock. The part number is 01375110080, which fits my 2015 Ducato.

Mine has just gone again today. Second time time now and with fully charged new engine battery.

So, I am getting a bit fed up with this.

I have an icarsoft diagnostic unit which will read some Fiat error codes but not the Airbag unit. Do any funsters have any device which which willl reset the airbag error codes.

Alternatively, does anybody have any suggestions what is going on with 6 year old motorhomes so that the ECU keeps failing. Is there anything I can fix?

Multiecuscan reset the airbag codes and also coded a new ecu to system. The software is free to try in a basic form, 50euro for license to enable all facilities. Extras are an elm type modified lead, £15, and an adapter lead, £10 ish plus a laptop to run it.
You can download the software for free and run in demo mode without connecting to vehicle to see what it can do, no leads required.
Note, fiat introduced some software to stop thieves accessing the ecu via the obd port, but I dont know when. Read the multiecuscan page for more info.
