Ducato Comformatic not quite right.

2.3, 180 bhp, 5000 miles 10 months old.

Yesterday and today it has dropped into 4th gear whilst using the “manual” box.

Yesterday I was going uphill in 6th, it wasn’t labouring and all of a sudden it was revving like mad in 4th gear. I checked that I hadn’t knocked it into auto. This morning it did the same thing but going down hill.
I know that as you slow It will change down, but should it do it for no obvious reason.

Mine did that in auto always over revving usually downhill not up, never used manual much but would expect it to hold the gear you select but suspect computer would override, has it just started doing this?

Why don’t you use the up hill button, works a treat and so much better than fording it manually.

Yes it only started yesterday. This is the third MH with Comformatic and as you say it usually stays in the gear you put it in. Both times I was in 6th gear, nothing out of the ordinary road wise, it just suddenly changed from 6th to 4th.

Suggest back to fiat for a system reset, they seem to do this for most things that go faulty just in case switching off and back on cures the problem!
