Hi all does anyone have this type camera and know how to get at the camera? As my rear view camera gets misted and I think it needs the lense sealing.

Thanks in advance.

I take it that you have tried to remove the cover from outside with no success?

Sorry for stating the obvious but have you cleaned the lenses?

Have had a quick look at it and it seems that the outside plate should lever off but am reluctant to do so until I know that’s the way to acces it as usual you can put a thin blade into the joint but there is a lot of resistance.

Yes cleaned lenses, the bottom one perfik! But top one misty from inside.

I had the need to get behind our rear camera ie inside the van the mirror on the rear wall was held on with velcro, I thought it would break but I used some good quality suction cups and it eventually came free I could see the wire but not the connecter that I wanted to access.

Then removed the pad from the head board and that revieled some screws that allowed the access I needed.(y)

If it is a Waeco camera, I was told by Waeco that there is no access. However mine was an electrical fault and the lens may be different although in theory they should be weather proof.
It may fix itself if you visit Seville in mid summer.

I'm fairly certain they are Waeco but OEM supply to Hymer, not listed on the Waeco site.

Hello just an update on this thread I eventually got around to getting the camera replaced before warranty runs out and the good news was that Durrwang sent me a new one to the site we are staying on in Spain and details of how to replace it.
There are five plastic push clip type things to release it and then you simply unplug the 4 cables one for each camera and two for the downward facing lights and then push the whole casing back on to the base clipping securely.
The camera is : Hymer article /description number 3053383
Rückfahr-Kamera Camos-3.te Spiegel CAM/R
Hope that’s useful if anyone ever needs to replace theirs? ?
