Hi all. Has anyone every had an issue with their drivers seat not moving backwards or forwards? Pulling the bar up and the chair is stuck solid - won’t move at all. Not quite sure where to start looking at to fix it…

Thanks

The seat mechanisms vary dependant on make. I would start by removing the front, rear & side panels and see if you can see how the mechanism operates. It may be just something caught jamming it.

Any luck with the above suggestions

Use a torch and a mirror to inspect what the lever operates and then compare what you see with the mechanism on the passenger seat

Look how the bar works on the passenger side. The bar can move out of it's mounting and does not lift it's latch. I had this happen when I was a bit over zealous lifting the bar.

Like Ninjabob I had a similar problem on my passenger seat - Ducato 2016.

I used the tilt mechanism to lift the front up and gain access. The bar that you lift to slide the seat had become independent of the mechanism and it seems that it was only friction keeping it in place. Flat head screwdriver to lever and lift the bar back into place.

Best of luck.

This exact problem just happened to me! Fiat 2015 Ducato pvc. I was putting the seat back on having removed it to fit a new underseat leisure battery and stupidly used the release bar to lift & lower it into position. Tilting the front of the seat up gave enough access to use the flat blade screwdriver to ease bar back onto its pin. All good again now.

Thanks all here for sharing. 😁

It happened to me a few weeks ago after my MOT.
The tester is far shorter than me and during the test it had worked perfectly going back & forth and my 2007 Ducato based with flying colours.

He reversed it out of the bay while I paid in the office.
I jumped in and couldn't get my legs down between the dash and the drivers seat where he had pulled it forward.
I got out again and tried to move it back, it wouldn't budge.

We tried to move it for about 15mins without success until he in desperation, put both arms around it in a bear hug and have it a tremendous wriggle. It came FREE! 👍

Not sure who was more relieved because I was beginning to threaten him with having to remove the seat etc. before I was prepared to remove it and he was VERY busy! 🤬
