Evening folks,
Today I was prepping the Moho for future trips and noticed both drain down taps had water leaking from them whilst running the kitchen taps.Has anyone had similar snags and if so what was your remedy? I have unscrewed the taps and applied some silicone sealant to see if that works! I’m thinking of changing the drain down taps at a cost of £18.50 a piece. Thanks in advance for your replies. I’ll also attach a picture.

You could try soakink them in hot white vinigar & water it may be a calcium build up.

looking at the blue cap(unscrewed) in picture #2 they both look very clean with little or no build up of any kind. Would I be right in saying, your suggestion was to disconnect the pipe either side and remove the whole tap then soak in vinegar and water.

I’ll do that, thanks again 👍

There are rubber 'O'ring seals inside that are squeezed when you tighten the drains.
Gradually they wear out.
Tease the OLD rubber O ring seal out, discard and replace with the exact sized NEW 'O' ring.
I fixed a dripping Hymer drain tap last year with the same issue.

Why do Motorhome builders do this? There is a thread on the valve to get a proper fitting on, why not use them?

I’ll replace the O rings, great advice and thanks.
I hear you Eggs, simplicity all the way 💪

Today I replaced both o rings on each drain down tap (4.5mm and 9mm diameter and 2mm thick were the sizes) folllwed by filling my fresh water tank. Post filling the tank I ran the water through the pipes with my eyes peeled on the drain down taps, so far no water has escaped 💪 Thanks campervan man. Cheers for everyone’s responses.

Glad the fix worked for you.
Don't over tighten the taps by hand, just nip them up.
