Can anyone help please.
I noticed yesterday that my daylight running lights were on, even though the van was locked up with no keys in ignition.
The DRL were on but not full power if that makes sense. I turned over the engine and put main lights on hoping that would sort it . but they were still on when i locked the van and have been on all night. as you can see from the screen shot. the batteries seem OK charge wise, Any ideas?

They should only be on when the ignition is on and should either turn off or dim when the headlights are on. Your starter battery voltage looks a bit low.

Hi Lenny -Starter battery probably low because my DRL have been on all night

Seriously i have come across an old posting of yours on another forum. unfortunately the link does not work. can you shed any light please

Day Time Running lights are only at the front?

Parking lights will be side lights on front and rear. I'm not actually sure how you turn parking lights on with the Ducato...??

Sorry to sound dim (but i am ) what do you mean by parking lights

Parking lights are a mechanism to show dim front and rear lights for a long period when parking. They are a legal requirement when parking on road at night with no streetlights.

Yes, it won't be an accidental parking light activation if the rear lights aren't showing. Sounds more like the relay failure mentioned previously.

There's lots of ways manufacturers invent for turning on the parking light. Trying to remember back to my old Ducato minibus (a good ten years ago or so!) and seem to remember some weird button next to the key, which could easily be activated by accident if you got into the habit of pressing it when taking the key out.

Thanks - the rear lights are not on. so that must rule out parking light.
does anyone have any idea where the relay is for the DRL or even the fuse as the owners manual is next to useless

By the looks of your avatar photo you've got an AT of a similar vintage (2013) to ours?

If so, you'll have DRL's like this -

The light unit is connected to a control box through a latched and keyed socket \ plug like this (forward of the n\s front wheel arch) -

The cable the light unit connects to runs up to the control box for both sides and it's fixed to the rear engine bay bulkhead behind the n\s headlight.
From memory, as I didn't have to change it over as it was only the light unit that was faulty, you can see \ touch the control box but to replace you may have to remove the headlight unit.

Give me a shout if you need anything else (not sure what else I can say though! :whistle2: ).

I too struggled to find the appropriate fuse for the DRL's so can't help with that.:(

And you can confirm the tail lights are defintely off with the dimmed DRLs?

As a very last resort you could find the DRL feed wires and cut them.... They can always be spliced back together later.

That was about 12 years ago, manufacturer gave me a set of DLR's to test. They were switched with a voltage sensing relay, didn't work to well so I got them to change it for a standard relay.

thanks Gellyneck found the little black box, quite wet inside, have ordered a new one.. thanks for every ones assistance
The water is probably getting in down behind \ between the windscreen and scuttle. If you search on here for x250 windscreen scuttle it should return a number of threads.

Did you have to remove the headlight or could you get to it without doing so?

Managed to get at it from the wheel arch. I recently carried out the mod for the scuttle so I'm hoping I have stopped that water access
