Door keeps flying open

I ahve a relatively new AS Nuevo with side door that is prone to slamming open. Last week with the winds, opening the door was done with trepidation that the wind was going to take the door and brake the hinge. The gas strut that supports the door at the top is woefully under spec, any suggestions for modifications would be much appreciated.

absolutely correct .. when the door is closed the strut is compressed..

You might want to update your profile is says you have a Rapidp V68.

the strut is fitted to assist opening and keep it open..

if not doing that then it may need replaced..

but it won't stop the door being blown open..

example.. the gas struts on a car boot or tailgate push and keep it open.. .. if it falls on your head it's goosed..
