Had my roof light open a crack in recent high winds and half way through the night the wind caught it and snapped the U shaped bar which holds it open/shut. I have found and ordered the spare part but I’m a bit unsure of how to fit it.
The bar is attached to the dome with a hinge. The hinge pin looks as if it might just be a push fit, but in the exploded diagram from which I found the part it looks as if the hinge pin may be 2 components and more complicated.
Can anyone advise how you get the hinge pin out and back in again? Photo attached showing the part I mean (and super sophisticated bodge to hold it shut while waiting 6 weeks for the part!). Thanks in anticipation.
