Hi all, I have a Dometic 3 way fridge model RMD 8555, I ran out of gas during the night so the red light was flashing, having changed the cylinder for a full one the red light is still flashing and the control button does not respond to anything I do. I can get the fridge to work on EHU and 12 volt with engine running but when I turn the engine off the gas doesn't light and the red light flashes again. The control panel PCB is stuck on AES and as I said does not respond, I have spoken to Dometic, they told me that with the newer models you press and hold the on/off button and it will reset itself but not mine, Does anyone know the fix for this please,
Jack.

If you are talking about the red triangle with ! In middle on far right/left hand side of panel that is the gas reset button..
If you press this it should reset the gas system.
Apologise if, however I am stating the obvious and you have already tried this.

My red triangle is not a button, the red ! flashes along with the one on the right, I think the later models have that facility.

Mine is the RMD 8555 and same as picture above..
Usually just press the triangle.. or Turn off and back on..
Maybe disconnect any EHU and try again so it only has a gas supply.
At times when my gas bottle has been off and van in use it will come up with the error while it purges the air out the system, you should hear it clicking outside attempting to ligth. After a few fails and pressing the reset it always then lights and works..

I never bother with the automatic setting, prefer to set it manually.

Many modern motorhome 3 way fridges will only ignite the gas 20 minutes after switching off the ignition. Due to 'on the move' heating it's to stop ignition sparks when you stop to fill up with diesel.

Agreed but with the RMD 8555 it will stay Indicating it is still on 12v battery (even with engine off) for 15mins and then switch to gas and relight..
It won't however alarm with a fault as OP's is !

Here are photo's of my fridge, as mentioned there is only the one toggle button that's supposed to select which power and also to switch on and off.

Sometimes turning the vans control panel off and back on again allows the fridge to be turned off and on again
