Dometic fridge problem (1 Viewer)

I have a 2017 Rapido with a Dometic RMD8505 fridge freezer, whilst parking on an incline the fridge stopped working - it was on mains at the time.
I levelled the van up and since then the fridge, when on mains, stops working occasionally and the inside wall was even quite warm at one stage. When I leave it on gas it seems fine and also drove a few hours on 12v and it was OK. I will book it in with the dealer as under warranty but I am heading for Spain tomorrow so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Worth keeping in mind that you have a 3 year warranty on that fridge freezer and its EU wide so when driving down to Spain hopefully you should be able to get the problem sorted under warranty in some of the other EU countries. The problems you are experiencing are not the norm. Good luck and hope you enjoy your time away.

I have the same model Dometic and mine will not work when parked on an incline whether on Ehu or gas.
As suggested get it checked asap while under warranty

What was the fault? I have a similar issue in our van on the same unit

Sounds like the mains (a.c.) heating element is fubar.

Seems to have fixed its self, I ran it on gas and 12v coming to Spain and now its OK on 240v. The dealer says they have a lot of fridge issues on the later vans if the mains supply is too low. Mine went faulty after I left it on 240v on an incline it then worked intermittently on different sites and its taken about a week to clear. Fingers crossed its OK now.

I’ve got to agree with the supply of electricity effect.
We ran on gas after that and had no more problems

We have the same fridge freezer RMD 8505 in our Burstner and found this link helpful when we had problems last year. It is the service instruction manual and covers most of the 8 series fridges...
