Hi
We have a Dometic RM8400 fridge. I had the top external cover off recently and found an un-attached round plastic cover lodged inside (see photos attached).
This looks as if it should be attached to the end of the metal exhaust, but there don't appear to be any fixings to secure it and the exhaust is cut on the angle. I have looked at the installation manual online and can see no picture of this cover.
Can anyone tell me whether I am correct - and what this is for (or should I just leave it off)?
Thanks
Patrick

The exhaust kits all seem to come with that little cover so it must be for it to be fitted somehow, maybe something that secures it has broken off?

That exhaust cover should have a couple of small lugs that clip into the
aluminium backing plate.

correct but on the OP's the ali back plate appears to be behind the grille?

You can see the holes for the clips in one of the pictures so should still work although the backplate looks as if it’s too far down the pipe for it to be fitted correctly.

Thanks all gus-lopez - you are right - there is too much of the exhaust pipe protruding to allow the cap to be clipped using the lugs - so I expect that it was put on loosely and has come adrift over the years (2014 model).
I don't think that it is essential/critical (unless a spider will block things up - mitzimad)
Thanks
Patrick

They don't attach that well anyway - warmed mine up and bent a little more to an oval shape and it seems to grip better now.
It is just to stop debris blocking the pipe.
