Dometic 7605L 12v (1 Viewer)

I have a Dometic 7605 L AES which works fine on gas, I also have it wired to 400w of solar via the S+ trigger wire, however, even when the solar controller triggers the S+ it still shows red as opposed to green light against the 12v on the control switch.
I have checked the 30A fuse in the main van fuseboard. Is there an easy way to check the 12v heater element is working?
I know gas is best, generally, but we are in sunny climes with fully charged battery so the solar is not being utilised and could keep the fridge maintained when sunny.
I only have access via the outside lower vent panel, and it looks like the 12v heater element maybe a tad difficult to reach.
Anyone with any experience on these fridges?

I'm having a similar problem in that my fridge (7655) isn't cooling on 12 volts with the engine running, although the light changes from red to green once the engine is started. I have 14 volts at the 12 volt element terminal block and you can hear the relay kicking in when 12 volt s is selected, the element (170 watts) resistance checks out ok around 1.1 ohms, not sure what to check next, although it was suggested to go for a run and feel if the element is getting hot. The 240 and 12 volt elements are mounted side by side but access is poor through the vents. I'll put a coupole of pics on taken through the lower vent, one shows the 12 volt terminal block and the other shows the 2 heating elements half way up the shroud on the burner chimney on the RHS.
