I had a look at a Hymer from 2005, which we did not buy, but it got me wondering whether a ULEZ charge if £300 a day really affects sale price. Looking at asking prices, there does not seem to be any difference againt a lower charge if £12-15 a day. I am not counting mosern exempt vehicles, just those with a charge is some sort.

Definitely not, probably the best excuse for not going into the Capital I can think of.
If you feel the need to go then best advice is to catch a train. I say this as one who does need to go in and we do pay the charge at £100 per day . Luckily their camera system in not too good and I reckon for every charge we pay we get four or five undetected. We have a Autopay Account so it works like the Dartford Crossing .

Not just London now, they are all lining up to charge in the next couple of years.

I live in the Birmingham CAZ. A requirement for my new van was that it had to be Euro 6. We nearly bought a 2017 van, but found out it had a Ford 2.2 Euro 5 engine, so moved on. But I'm also expecting it to become harder to travel around cities all over Europe with an older van.

I don't think it's a major factor, but it will make a difference to values.

Where do you have to pay £100 a day I'm curious. Having said that in our trips to France, Germany, Italy, and lately more n the UK we prefer not to take the camper into cities if we want to go into one because of the problem of finding somewhere to park. We find out much easier to use park and ride where available or go by train having used a station car park.

I think if you're non-compliant and over 3.5t, for some schemes you have to pay quite a bit.

It would have to have a lower price than an identical year one that had exemption I would have thought?

I think it will affect values, if it has not already done so.

Forgetting the argument about fair or not for the purposes of answering the question ( I know, unusual here) there will come a point down the line when you are looking at 2 second hand vans, similar spec, similar year, similar "quality".......
One is LEZ compliant.....one isn't

In that scenario, I guess if all else was equal, the only thing to persuade you to buy the non-compliant one would be price

I suppose that answers the question of the OP then

Be warned the Manchester system isnt for the city its practically the whole of greater manchester so Wigan in the north right around to Stockport in the south. £60 a day if over 3500kg is my understanding.

The Ulez one in London is being increased to much of outer London from next month. Will probably enlarge zone again to cover all Greater London including my address. We store van outside Greater London but it will make it difficult for us.
