I use Firefox and last night I kept getting malware. I switched to Edge and seems to be okay now

Chrome. Although weirdly sometimes it changes my search engine to Yahoo.

Is it the add on apps that make Chrome less secure?
Thanks to this thread being posted, I saw for the 1st time the availability of a volume blaster app claiming to raise the volume on my laptop by "Up To" 600%. I declined to upload the app as its from a 3rd party, which as Grommet suggests could lower the overall security of using the search engine.
Shame as I could do with something that raises the volume on my laptop, as I have to use a separate Blue Tooth speaker, especially when viewing The BBC.

thanks for posting, I just use Firefox and the only plugins on there are Facebook Container, Ghostery, HTTPS Everywhere and uBlock Origin. I'll keep an eye out in case they start to misbehave!

Jim told me about one called Brave which is really secure.

I used Brave until they installed their own vpn without an option not to. I now use Libre Wolf which is supposed to be a more secure version of Firefox which I also use if the default security settings in Libre Wolf breaks some sites.
