Made my own hand sanitizer.
-Aloe Vera Gel,
-Tea tree oil (for a nicer smell),
-Methylated Spirit.
(Isopropanol or Rubbing alcohol would have been better but order not arrived yet).

Thought it might be of help to someone of you need/want some. I use it after every shop of petrol forecourt visit. I am still working but dramatically reduced travel.

Would not recommend methylated spirit, contains Methanol,, which is a tad harmful.
It can be absorbed through the skin.

google it.

had exactly the same thought but decided not to

You are correct but it is mixed at low level.
Aloe vera will mix with the alcohol and will form a moisture layer gel to protect your skin from the alcohol,
Isopropanol and rubbing alcohol are better choices of you can get them.

If you are interested the alcohol (ethanol) content causes DNA to "denature" in other words unwind and break apart, killing bacteria and viruses alike.

I made mine using isopropyl alcohol 80% and vegetable glycerin 20%, goes on nicely and doesn’t dry out the skin without being sticky.

Hey Sundowners, glad to hear you're OK! Greetings from the New Forest, Ocknell campsite where I work for Camping in the Forest, looking after a bunch of our site staff that never got to start their summer contracts.
