Hi All,
Can anyone help with the location of a company that will sell a diesel cap flap fitting. We have a Hymer Exsis and the flap keeps flapping as we drive along. Its only a matter of time before it comes off (or in frustration I yank it off). The locking cap is ok its the flap kit or anyone got a good method of stopping it flapping. I've tried velcrow without success

Glue these on ?

Our 2013 hymer van was modified in 2014 under warranty with the replacement flap having magnets.

Glue these on ?

They'll work - be careful about number and size or you'll never get it open😁. Test one central one that will attract the keyhole in the cap.

Sadly it says out of stock

You‘ve obviously tried velcro. We have the screwfix super strong velco cut into two small circles stuck on the inside corners of the flaps, just push down before we set off, and our flaps haven’t flapped at all since (many thousands of miles on motorways travelled). Used to be a nightmare!

Still looking for ideas on stopping the fuel flap from flapping. I've tried two sizes of magnetic discs and velcro but the problem is the glue - it just won't stick to either the discs or the flap. I've tried 3 different glues all to no avail. My next step is to remove the flap all together unless I can sort something out. Any further ideas guys?

Our water flap flapped - I used blutack :)

Have you made sure the glue can stick properly? Clean the plastic then scour the surface till it’s completely dull perhaps.
Good luck 👍

Ours works very well, and I put it on 3 years ago. Extra strong sticky backed Velcro from Screwfix (have used it on so many van projects). Use methylated spirits to thoroughly degrease the contact surfaces first then apply the velcro. Allow 12 hours to really adhere, then just press down before you leave sites. Never had another flapping issue since. I think I’d struggle to remove it now!

Glue these on ?

Amazon have lots of different magnets

Thanks for all your suggestions. I've just bought the velcro from Screwfix so will trey that. I did scrub the plastic surfaces first but it just didn't stick - I even left it 48 hours before closing. Will persevere - thanks everyone.

Just call me a prat. I cleaned the area with washing up liquid and water and as I said no joy. Yesterday I cleaned it with meths - the magnets have stuck solid - job done. As I had spare magnets I also did the water flap as that was almost flapping. Really pleased - thanks guys
