Dampierre sur Loire

We are here for a few days, fabulous aire, formerly the campsite. Lots of trees for shade (it was 38 degrees a couple of days ago ) and there is a bus or cycle track to Saumur and Montsoreau.

Went to the Monet exhibition at fontevraud yesterday, not to be missed

Stayed there a few times ourselves, a nice cycle into Samaur too.

Brilliant AFV museum in Saumur if you’re into that kind of thing.

Forget to mention that there is also a rare example of that hard to find thing in France - a decent steak house, located in the heart of Saumur old town. Highly recommended even if you have to sit outside on the square (we actually preferred it!).
