Anybody got any tips on how to secure my bikes in the rear garage as I have to take the front wheels off to get them in which isn't a problem but need some sort off quick release front wheel axle to fit to a false flooring that I thought I might fit ! all suggestions greatly received and even with a photo would be great ! Many thanks .

How about a piece of Ali U section bolted to the floor where the front forks will fit into and be secured with your skewer

Holes would need drilling in the Ali

You can buy THESE or at those silly prices you can make your own.

Here you go, this is what I use.

I bought these, cut a section of ply to the full width of the garage to prevent any movement and bolted these to the ply. This method allows you to remove them easily if more garage space is required and not taking the bikes. Just lift the ply out. Total cost about £40.

Thanks for that guys and now got some ideas how to secure the front forks and just to go a little further how do you guys secure the bikes either together or separately without drilling holes in M.H. ? .

Do you mean secure within the garage or when you are out and about?

No sorry I meant whilst inside the garage on M.H.

You just need some tie down eyes, the rail as shown above would be perfect.

I just use the clamps on the photo. 2 bikes side by side are very stable and don't require any further support

We use radfazz as above and I pack the bikes with those foam floor tiles. May strap to the floor.

If you have got the height I would go down the Thule Velloslide route. We bit the bullet and bought one, yes it is expensive but you can move it onto your next van so the cost over ten or so years is reasonable. Key thing is you don't have to disassemble bikes. Was just looking for a link and it came up at a good price here.

I made my own from a couple of spare QR hubs. I turned the handlebars through 90° to gain more space but that meant that the hubs had to be at an angle (not flat on the floor) to accommodate the castor effect.

Thanks again everybody and its funny you should suggest that idea Bustup 15 as I already had a piece of ply cut to width of garage size but made up some wooden blocks with some long threaded rods to clamp forks ! not ideal but now taken your suggestion on and ordered two of the Delta clamps . Thanks again all and stay safe !
