Hope this is a helpful thread- but have been reading all I can here [and everywhere] not found info.elsewhere.
We are driving to ski 15 th Feb and Daughter and grandkids fly out to meet us 19th; youngest ok as under 12 and doesn't need pass-oldest 16 and registered on app ok has had 2 vaccinations.
Middle one is 14 and has had appt for second dose earliest 1st Feb - we have tried everywhere to ensure she will be in time to get app on her phone after this- info as clear as mud.
By applying on line for the paper pass [which I THINK she is not yet eligible for - but some info says one jab and having had covid- which she has had = OK ] I have gleaned the following info . Paper pass will be OK - lasts for 30 days - and should be posted very quickly once confirmed she is eligible. Can hopefully just re apply after second dose if needed .
NHS phone app
She needs to go to her GP surgery and get them to allow her access to the pass as she is not 16. To get the travel pass on the app she needs to wait at least 5 days after vaccination and then apply on line in the App - and it may take up to 7 days to go through. Oddly the gov website says that to get the pass to attend clubs etc in the UK she would need to wait 2 weeks after being fully vaccinated

I am going grey trying to sort the logistics for the trip [cancelled twice already ]- and as a heads up to any other fond parents/grandparents off skiing with kids- all the morning ski ing lessons were booked up the day after the restrictions were lifted we had to book afternoon ones- and we are not going at the peak half term week .

Best of luck with this getting away this time. We are crossing the water for Whitsun week in Brittany.

We too have a 14 year old, but he missed his school jab because ..... he tested positive for Covid, 10 weeks before, and they wouldn't jab him.

I too have heard that if you are under 16, have tested positive and received one jab, then you are fine. We are looking at getting paper passes, so would ask, do you have the link on which to apply for one?

A follow up question would be to ask, are you crossing any other borders to get to your skiing? I have hear that several of the Yerp nations have different rules regarding entry requirements.

You can get a covid recovery letter or wait until she has had the second jab and then request a letter via 119 to confirm covid status.

Not sure about the app our our son is 12 so under 13's do not have an online health record anyway.

From the web [sorry cant get bold off the font  on the computer now I have cut n pasted the link below [you can see why I am going mad searching the net here:LOL:

https://www.nhs.uk › ... › Coronavirus (COVID-19)

You can get an NHS COVID Pass digitally through the NHS App or the online NHS COVID Pass service. ... You can download your digital NHS COVID Pass and print it.

I just applied with full name DoB and her postcode [to see what the forms said you had to do ] as if she was eligible to get the paper pass-
waiting to see if she does- but she will get the second jab in meantime anyway.
It is the timing of reply that is then a pain if she needs to wait after the second jab .
Be aware the paper pass has an expiry date - the on line one updates when you open the app. God knows why as you cant be Un- vaccinated ...
No not crossing borders just in France - good luck if you have to search any other sites
